Auburn Hills Dog Bite Lawyer

Our dog bite attorneys in Auburn Hills represent clients injured by dog bites and in dog attacks.  These dog bites often result in serious injuries and require medical treatment.  Common injuries suffered in a Auburn Hills dog bite attack include:

  • Bite punctures and lacerations
  • Scars on the face, arms, and legs
  • Nerve damage
  • Broken bones and bone fractures
  • Psychological injuries and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

Victims of a dog bite or dog attack can be left with permanent scars and disfigurement.  Often, dog bite victims will require emergency medical care for sutures, plastic surgery, and rabies shots.  Many times, a plastic surgeon will not even attempt to repair the scar for several years after the attack, leaving the victim with a disfiguring and conspicuous scar for everyone to see.

In addition, the medical expenses for emergency treatment and plastic surgery resulting from the dog bite can be significant.  These expenses are included in a claim made against the dog owner or keeper of the dog when we file a dog bite case.  We also make claims for the pain and sufferings caused by the attack and seek compensation for the scar and any other disfigurement.  We have obtained significant settlements for clients injured in these dog attacks. Michigan Dog Bite Injury Lawsuit Settles For Bite On Face At Relative’s Home

Our dog bite injury lawyers at Buckfire & Buckfire, P.C. recently settled a Michigan lawsuit on behalf of our client who was bitten by relative’s dog. The attack happened while she was having dinner at her relative’s home. The dog that attacked was currently on medications, and the relative dog owners were advised by their veterinarian that the dog was to be locked up when other people were at their home.

Our client was a thirteen-year-old girl and she was bitten on the face. She suffers a bite above her lip which required twenty-one stitches. She also suffered from permanent scarring due to the dog attack. The lawsuit settled for $77,000.00. The homeowner’s insurance company for the dog owner paid the settlement.

Often times, a dog attack will happen by a relative’s dog. In these cases, the dog owner’s insurance company usually pays a settlement to the dog bite victim. Family members do not have to worry about the relative paying a settlement out of their own pockets and insurance rates usually do not increase after this type of settlement payment. Therefore, if both neighbors act in a civil manner after the Michigan attack, they can still maintain their relationship after the victim is fairly compensated for the dog bite injuries.

If you or a family member is attacked or bitten by a relative’s dog, you should contact our Michigan dog bite injury lawyers as soon as possible after the attack so that we can explain your legal rights to you and begin our investigation of the claim. We will represent you under our No Fee Promise, which means we do not charge any legal fees or costs until we win your settlement. Call today at (800) 606-1717.

Royal Oak Dog Bite Lawyer Settles Bite On Face Case

Our Royal Oak dog bite lawyers recently settled a claim on behalf of a woman who was bitten in the face by a co-worker’s dog.  She went to the home to get a new puppy and the puppy was outside in the front yard.  She was given permission to enter the home to use the bathroom.  When she entered into the home, she took one step in and the family’s Great Dane lunged at her face and bit her lip.  After the bite, she went to the porch holding her face and the family assisted her.

Our client suffered a bite on the lower lip and received treatment, including stitches, at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.  We were able to reach a settlement with the homeowner’s insurance company, AAA Michigan, prior to filing a lawsuit.  The insurance company settlement included the claim for the scar and the emergency room medical bill.
